THE ROLESOR
Gold is coveted for its luster and prestige; steel is renowned for its reliability and strength. United, these two materials are harmoniously combined to best express their respective properties. The Rolesor, present on the Rolex models since the early 1930s and named in 1933, is a true trademark signature and one of the pillars of the Oyster collection.

BLACK DIAL
The central seconds hand allows an accurate reading of 1/8 of a second, while the two counters on the dial measure the passing of hours and minutes, allowing the pilot to carefully plan the times of the route and the driving tactics.
THE OYSTER BRACELET
The design, development and production of the Rolex bracelets and clasps, as well as the rigorous tests they are subjected to, are made possible by the use of cutting-edge equipment, while their impeccable beauty is guaranteed by the careful aesthetic checks carried out personally by the watchmakers Rolex on every component of the watch. The Oyster bracelet is the result of a perfect alchemy between form and function. Introduced at the end of the 1930s, this very large and flat metal bracelet with three large and flat links is still the most widespread among the watches in the Oyster collection.

THE 4130 MOVEMENT
The Cosmograph Daytona is equipped with the caliber 4130, a mechanical chronograph movement with automatic winding developed and produced by Rolex. This movement has considerably fewer components than a common chronograph, which ensures greater reliability. Like all Rolex Perpetual movements, the 4130 is a certified Swiss chronometer, a title reserved for superior precision watches that have successfully passed COSC tests ( Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres ). The 4130 caliber includes a Parachrom spiral that guarantees better resistance to shocks and temperature variations.

START, DRIVE, STOP
The chronograph functions of the Daytona are activated by buttons that, when not in use, are screwed like the winding crown, guaranteeing the water-resistance of the watch up to 100 meters. By pressing the button to activate, stop or reset the chronograph, a clear “click” is produced, which the Rolex engineers have refined using the most advanced technologies. Rolex master watchmakers have also perfected the mechanism to adapt it to the optimal finger pressure on the buttons and to obtain instantaneous activation of the chronograph without sacrificing reliability.
